Education Programs

The Learning Tree

The Learning Tree is the Gingolx centre for early childhood education. We operate a nursery school, day care program, and a tiny tots program. Our facility is fully licensed by Northern Health. Staff have first aid, food safe, qualified early infant educator, and early childhood education certification.

Our Philosophy

We create a nurturing, safe environment that provides opportunities for children to explore and be curious alongside their families and community. Our work supports holistic learning for a better, brighter future.

Our Curriculum

Children learn by hands on activities that engage their senses. Our curriculum is based on children’s interests and also helps prepare them for elementary school. We include Nisga’a language and culture in all our programs.

Partnerships and outreach

We recognize that childhood education is rooted in community. We provide support for families to help them as parents. Also, we partner with community agencies, individuals, and organizations that are essential to the wellness of each child and family.

Our day care program incorporates the Canadian Head Start program, which is dedicated to nurturing the spiritual, emotional, intellectual, and physical development of Indigenous children while supporting their parents and guardians as their primary teachers.
