Thanks to funding from the Brighter Futures initiative of the Canadian Government, the Gingolx Community Relations Department offers a suite of programs that provide community-based approaches to better health and well-being for children, adults, and families.
These programs focus on five areas
- Mental health
- Child development
- Parenting
- Healthy babies
- Injury prevention
Offerings have included workshops on mental health, field trips for youth, first aid training, language and culture courses, and parenting programs. A highlight in 2021 was Bicycle Safety Awareness Week. Children were given helmets, taught bicycle safety, and given assignments with the opportunity to win prizes if they completed them correctly.
Some Brighter Futures programming is offered through other Gingolx Village departments.
